I previously mentioned dietary fibre can be used to induce satiation so we feel full and stop eating. However you may make notice at times that no matter how much fibre you eat, you still remain hungry and continue craving for food. This is because you have to induce satiation as well as satiety to efficiently relieve hunger and prolong fullness! Satiety is the feeling of satisfaction after a bigtasty (delicious) meal. When we experience satiety, we lose the cravings for food and naturally stop eating (sometimes before we’re even full). Protein has the strongest effect on satiety which directly helps to control appetite and reduce overall food consumption.
